Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in communications (fire, EMS or law enforcement) and currently employed by a public safety communications center
  • Must be a supervisor and someone with leadership experience, is self motivated and willing to volunteer for a 1-year commitment
  • Employing agency must support and authorize your participation
  • Once selected you must maintain a membership from one of the following three organizations: NENA, APCO or SEWCRSG
  • Must have a valid WI driver's license
  • Must have Internet access and a personal e-mail account
  • Must provide a 24/7 phone contact number
  • Participate in periodic training/education sessions provided/sponsored by WI-TERT

  • Complete WI-TERT Basic Training course
  • Assist with continuing education
  • Correspondence with other Regional Coordinators (6 Regions), including particpation in periodic meetings or teleconferences
  • Deploys WI-TERT response teams, including preparation for deployment and debriefing members upon return
  • Maintains Regional contact data and deployment records
  • Available as a contact when your members are called out, you will not always need to go along, however you must be available for the agency requesting the WI-TERT team
